Delete your Placie account

Deleting your Placie account removes your data from our servers. Here's exactly how it works.

Delete in the app (fastest)

1. Open Placie and go to Settings.
2. Tap Delete account and data.
3. Confirm twice — deletion is permanent, so we ask you to be sure.

That's it. The app calls our server and your data is deleted immediately, server-side. You're signed out and your account is gone.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we delete from our servers:

• Your account — email address and display name
• Your circle memberships (you disappear from your circles' maps)
• Your location data — current location and any history entries
• Your devices and push notification tokens
• Your pending invites

What may persist briefly

• Audit events — minimal security log entries (things like "sharing turned on" or "member joined circle") are kept for up to 90 days under our retention policy, then deleted. They exist to protect users against misuse of sharing.

Can't access the app?

No problem. Email support@placie.net from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm and delete your account and data for you.

Deleting your account is permanent — we can't restore your circles or data afterwards. But you're always welcome back: creating a new account takes about a minute. Ready when you are.
